50 percent of schools in Central Visayas to raise tuition

The Department of Education in Central Visayas (DepEd-7) is expecting 50 percent of all private elementary and high schools in the region to raise tuition and other fees in the coming school year.

DepEd however tell schools that 70 percent of the increase shall go to salaries and benefits of teachers, 20 percent for improvement of school facilities and equipment, and, only 10 percent should be set aside as profit.
