Aquino criticizes China loans

Former President Benigno Aquino III criticizes loans made by the Duterte administration with China.

He said the administration is treading on dangerous grounds when it uses natural resources as collateral and arbitration of the deal will be in a Chinese Court.

Aquino was in Cebu yesterday to campaign for the opposition senatorial candidates, Otso Diretso.

Lawyer says Digong "misinformed"

The lawyer of the 17yo suspect in the Silawan slay insist that the arrest was invalid and  President Duterte was "misinformed."


Atty. Vincent Isles added that any re-arrest made on President's orders will be an illegal arrest.

Zero water supply from Buhisan Dam in Cebu

One of the two major dams in Cebu have stopped producing water at the onset of the El NiƱo Phenomenon affecting 6,000 households in Cebu City.


The Buhisan Dam has zero production because its water levels are way below the  discharge pipes.


The Jaclupan Dam on the other hand can only supply around 19,000 cubic meters of water instead of 33,000 cubic meters because of the dry spell.

State of Calamity in Cebu due to dry spell

State of Calamity declared in the entire Cebu Province because of the dry spell.


Damage to crops and the dwindling water supply are observed in several towns and cities in the Province. 


The declaration of calamity will allow access to the local government unit's calamity funds.

Drought affecting families, farmers in upland Cebu City

Families and farmers in upland Cebu City are starting to feel the heat of the dry spell even before the onset of the El NiƱo.


Some of them had to travel to rivers to take a bath or do their laundry because their water sources at home have began to deplete.


Even the rivers have also began to dry up too.


Many of the crops have also died because of the drought.

The reward pledges for information that will lead to the capture of the killers of 16yo Christine Silawan has reached P2 Million.

P100,000 reward for killers of 16yo from Lapu-Lapu student

A P100,000 reward is up for information that will lead to the capture of the killers of the 16-yo female in Lapu-Lapu City.


PRO7 Medico Legal Officer Benjamin Lara on the other hand said "swabs" have been sent to Manila to determine if the victim was raped. 


There are no fresh lacerations on the victim's genitals prompting Lara to take swab tests and send them for further tests in Manila if there are traces of male secretions.

Viral Video: PUJ rams into an engineer in Cebu

A 33-year-old engineer in Mandaue City was killed when a PUJ lost its brakes Thursday morning.


The man was on his way to work awaiting a PUJ ride when the freak accident happened.


The whole incident was caught on camera and has been making the rounds on social media.


The PUJ driver is now detained at the Mandaue City Police Office awaiting charges.

Central Visayas recorded high number of fire incidents

The Bureau of Fire and Protection listed more fire incidents in the region this year compared to last year.

At least 310 fire incidents are recorded in Central Visayas from January to February 2019 compared to only 150 fires in 2018 for the same period.

The top causes of fire in the region include loose electrical connections, open flame cooking, and unattended candles.
