Naga LGU was warned of landslides since 2008--MGB7

Since 2008, MGB-7 has recommended the relocation of 26 households in sitio Sindulan barangay Tinaan in the City of Naga, Cebu--the ground zero of the deadly landslide last September 20. 

Government geologists made the recommendations to the LGU in Naga City after conducting Geo-Hazard survey about 10 years ago.

As of latest count, 21 are now confirmed dead while more or less 60 individuals still missing from the landslide that hit sitios Sindulan and Tagaytay in the City of Naga, Cebu. 

As of 11PM, 9 were rescued, according to PRO-7

Two jail guards, one inmate killed in Cebu City ambush

SCENES: latest ambush in Cebu City killing two jail guards and an inmate. The three were on board jail transport vehicle en-route to a Cebu City Court.

The two jail guards were under investigation for alleged lapses in the entry of illegal drugs at the CPDRC. The inmate was allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade.

Cebu Police looking at 'Persons of Interests'

Provincial Police Director, Sr. Supt. Manuel Abrugena said they have "persons of interest" in the killing of Ronda Town Mayor Mariano "Noni" Blanco. 

The motives of the killing are yet to be determined but the Police are looking into the Mayor's association with "persons of questionable characters."

Abrugena shrugs off insinuations that the killing of Mayor Blanco last Tuesday is not a State-sponsored execution.

A hero's homecoming for Margielyn Didal of Lahug, Cebu City was held yesterday with a motorcade and a program inside her alma mater in Lahug Elementary School.

She bagged the Asian Games Gold Medal for skateboarding held in Indonesia.

Ronda, Cebu Mayor killed inside Town Hall

Ronda Town Mayor Mariano "Noni" Blanco was killed by armed men inside the Municipal Hall at 1:30 a.m Wednesday, September 5.

Four gunmen who talked in "Tagalog" were believed to be the suspects, according to witnesses.

Blanco has been named by President Duterte as allegedly part of a Narco-list --to which the Mayor had denied.

The Town Hall is located right next to the police station. But policemen were not able to respond to the shooting.

Town officials asked for parallel probe from the NBI.
