NBI checks police headquarters for clues in the lawyer's ambush

Agents from the National Bureau of Investigation raided the Highway Patrol Group headquarters in Lahug, Cebu City this morning to look for the vehicles used in the ambush-slay of lawyer Noel Archival.

Found at the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) HPG headquarters is a Toyota Vios registered to a certain “Nora Yera” with plate number Found on the car's trunk is a court document crafted by Archival when he was still alive. A vanity plate PNP-111 was also on the vehicle.

Armed with a search warrant, the agents apparently were thinking that policemen were involved in last month's killing of the lawyer in Dalaguete town in Southern Cebu.

The NBI however has not made an official statement on the operations this morning. They have reserved a press conference this afternoon. Up to now, the NBI agents are still at the HPG office. Present during the operations were family members of Archival. /Senior Reporter Dale G. Israel
